OPEN HOUSE INFORMATION

Dear Bearcats,

The start of school is right around the corner, and we look forward to welcoming your student.   Our open house event is Thursday, August 4. At the open house students and parents will get to meet teachers, visit the campus, and get pertinent information about CRMS. There will be a specific 6th-grade, student-only orientation from 11:00-2:00pm. Lunch will be provided for these students. Please drop off 6th students in the rear parking lot at 11:00 am. At 2:00pm parents of 6th-grade students may park in the bus parking area and come to the cafeteria to join their 6th-grade student for a campus visit. The 6th-grade open house portion for students and parents is 2-3:45pm.

7th grade open house is from 4:00-5:00 and 8th grade is 5:00-6:00.  We have specific times due to limited parking. You are welcome to attend anytime from 2-6 but parking may not be available outside of your time. We want you to have a pleasant visit.

At the open house, we will have forms to complete- athletic info, club info, band info, bus information, and lunch information.  Additionally, students are asked to pay a $5 participation fee that goes towards gym lockers, supplemental field trip transportation, and student rewards. This money will be paid in their 6th period classroom. Bearcat t-shirts, hoodies, hats, and socks will also be available for purchase.

We encourage all students to purchase iPad breakage insurance at the cost of approximately $20. The insurance is offered through an outside company that is contracted by Citrus County School and the applications will be available at the open house. Middle school students are prone to breaking iPads, so insurance is a great idea.

We hope you can make it. It will help your child get off to a successful start.

Thank You

David Roland

Employment Opportunity The Citrus County Schools Transportation Department needs Bus Operators.  This is an opportunity to earn income and still be home with your children when school is not in session.  We are looking for safe drivers who care about children.  We provide paid training and testing to receive a commercial driver’s license.  Background screening and pre-employment drug testing fees are paid for by the department.  There are opportunities to drive for the school your child/children attend, and then your school-aged children can ride the bus you are driving to school, in many cases eliminating the need for child care.   If you are interested, please contact the Transportation Business office at 352-726-1931, extension 2370 and/or complete a Substitute Bus Operator application on line at www.citrus.k12.fl.us.

To combat COVID-19 and the upcoming flu season, there may be a need to move students to alternative classrooms to clean certain areas throughout the school day.  Due to lower numbers of students in our brick and mortar schools, we have empty classrooms available.  This is just another step in making sure we are taking every precaution to make sure students and staff stay healthy.  Just a reminder, if the Citrus County Health Department determines your child has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, you will be contacted by the Citrus County Health Department with further instructions.
